Overview

Position: Travel ICU Charge Nurse 

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Intensive Care Unit

Shifts Available: Days and Nights

Pay: up to $1,491 –$2,067 gross pay per week; equivalent to $41.44– $57.43 per hour.

Assignment Length: 12 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Oversees ICU operations and nursing staff during assigned shifts.
  • Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments.
  • Supervises, mentors, and supports staff performance and development.
  • Assists with performance management and HR-related activities.
  • Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness.
  • Coordinates patient care, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Rounds with patients and families to support a positive patient experience.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing and quality outcomes.
  • Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state RN License
  2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
  4. Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting, E.D. setting required.
  5. Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, required.
