Overview

Position: CCU Charge Nurse 

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Coronary Care Unit

Shifts Available: Days and Nights

Pay: up to $1,451 –$1,982 gross pay per week; equivalent to $40.32 – $55.06 per hour.

Assignment Length: 12 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Monitors quality of care, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Implements immediate care plan changes to promote patient safety.C
  • onducts patient and family rounding to enhance the patient experience.
  • Serves as a resource for patients, families, and staff.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed to maintain safe staffing ratios.
  • Supports daily unit operations and communicates patient care or safety concerns.
  • Manages staffing, scheduling, and assignments.
  • Supervises, coaches, and evaluates staff; assists with performance management.
  • Ensures adequate supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinates with departments to support efficient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Oversees nursing staff and patient care during assigned shift.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state RN
  2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain
  3. Current ACLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain
  4. Previous one year of supervisory experience, in acute care hospital, CCU setting required,
  5. Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting required
  6. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain
